Naoki Urasawa

Naoki Urasawa is one of my favourite comic artist. He was born in Tokyo 53 years ago and at first he studied Economics. In1981 he published Return, his first manga, and won the Shogakukan's Best Novel Author Award. He has published other mangas as Yawara!, Monster or Pineapple Army and he has won many awards: Osamu Tezuka's one, Kodansha Manga Award, Eisner Award, Angouleme Award...

One of his most famous stories is 20th Century Boys, a suspense manga about a serie of murders associated with a symbol that Kenji, the main character, and his childhood friends made when they were young. 20th Century Boys has been adapted into film.

While he was drawing 20th Century Boys Urasawa published Pluto, an adaptation of Tezuka's Astroboy: the grestest robot on earth supervised by Tezuka's son, Makoto Tezuka. He made his own interpretation of the Tezuka's history, changing the main character from Astroboy to Gesich, a german robot policeman.

Three of his stories has been adapted into anime: Monster, a medical thriller, Yawara!, a judo manga, and Master Keaton. He has become one of the most famous maga artist of the world.
